When was Easter anyway?

It's hard to tell whether this break has been productive or not. I'm at home, packing everyday and otherwise not doing much, when I imagine I'd be out somewhere enjoying myself every other day if I weren't moving this Saturday. Well, at least it was a convenient coincidence that the move was set for during the break. On the other hand, I could be catching up on work, which thought as this point, is actually a bit depressing. Please, anything but packing up!

On a lighter note, I got a new scanner. It can scan 35mm film. It's more expensive than a multifunction scanner/printer/fax/etc my parents bought, but fucking hell, I don't care. It's gorgeous.

I've been waking up in the morning with headaches for some reason. I hope it's not because I've been sleeping so much :D

It's been a long time, and while I don't think I tend to have anything interesting to say, the increasing number of people I know in RL reading this LJ (that is, without me giving them the address) is making me feel vaguely disturbed. Putting the journal under complete f-lock is in consideration, I guess?

Current Mood: bored bored
WTF

Mreh?

Even more procrastinating!

My first English essay is due at 5pm today, and I'm hardly 1/10 into it. Well, it's only 1000 words, so it shouldn't be too bad, as long as I skip my photography lecture again *SHHHH*. Kyle didn't really help by showing me I-Am-Bored.Com and I found the music video for the Tarako Tarako song that I have as my ringtone sometimes.

Oh, I reposted my old LJ entries onto IJ here... hope it didn't flood anyone's f-lists (not that I'm on many people's right now)? Well, lost quite a few in the moving process, but most of it's here, though I'm not sure whether clinging onto old memories of my loser-ness is such a good idea after all.

Current Mood: sleepy sleepy
Procrastinating time!

I could almost swear we're supposed to be well into Autumn, and yet, what is this? 39 degrees? 39 fucking degrees? I hope the bureau is right when they say next week will have some mid-twenties. My fan's going to burst into flames and burn the house down at the rate I'm using it every day.

Oh well. Enough of that. This year seems to have a half decent line up of anime that I want to watch. Seasons two for Code Geass and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, more Hellsing Ultimate, the Kurenai OVA, as well as Antique Bakery.

Apparently Detective Conan is ending this year. Whoa. Like, took it long enough. It'd only been going on for the past one or two decades, and Conan's still in grade 1, while solving more cases than there are days in a year. Even Prince of Tennis didn't last half as long as this series has.

Entering week 4 of semester 1, so I guess now's a good time to bore whoever's reading to tears about how third year has been so far... )

Anyway, my mum's back again later tonight, so I'll be spending some time at home-home. Then will probably get roped into packing to move in to the new place by the end of the month. Argh. I still can't help but remember that stupid thing with the stupid car and my stupid driving and the stupid neighbours. Bah.

JLPT Results

I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2! Fuck yeah!

But the stupid post people bent my certificate D:

I was in the red for about an hour or so at work today. Negative $2. WTF. Fucking Tuesdays. Made up for it by staying a little later. Managed to get a lot of reading done though - I'm almost done with 'Wuthering Heights'.

Changed timetable:
Monday: 11am-1pm (CL), 2-3pm (CA, which I'm probably not going to go to), 3-4pm (CL, because I have to get back for the next class)
Tuesday: Still Free
Wednesday: 1-4pm (CA)
Thursday: 10-11am (CA), 12-1pm (CL), 2-4pm (CL)
Friday: 9am-12pm (CA), 2-3pm (CL)

[info]yellobbang of [info]nanabbang posted a mood theme on the 'Reborn!' comm, which I just couldn't resist, especially when they've made it to easy to fix up. Whoo.

It's time to make some new icons! (I need to install Photoshop again!)

Apparently the 'Antique Bakery' anime is due to air in July, and Ono is still going to be gay. Double Whoo (or is it, 'Fuuuuu~~~!'? :D).

Quick update

Timetable has undergone some shifting around. Nothing too drastic, luckily, now. Am apparently at work for another week or two. Looking forward to quitting for good - more time to focus on studies. Still fat. Have 'Wuthering Heights' and 'Bush Studies' to read by next week for English. It's still frigging cold, but I have the heater on. Borrowed a couple of series from the Anime Club. I think that is all, yes.

My timetable for this semester:

Monday: 11am-1pm, 3-4pm
Tuesday: FREE
Wednesday: 11am-1pm
Thursday: 10-11am, 2pm-4pm
Friday: 9am-12pm, 2pm-4pm

In other (very sad, horrible and traumatizing) news, I got fat. My waist has expanded a whole inch since I don't remember when. Fuck! Back to gym I go.

Went to the Food and Wine Festival at Federation Square today - The orgasm-inducing cookie people weren't there this year, damnit! Karaoke afterwards was good, though, and appeased me :D

Am thinking of buying a foldable bike to go around places on. Found one online for $239, but I'm not sure of the brand. Maybe I'll give in and get a Dahon, which is about $450. Ouch.

I have Utada United 2006 on repeat on my iPod. Life is good.

Seem to have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off this semester, as anticipated. Though I haven't been auto allocated into my English lectures for some reason.

Bought a 750gb Seagate external HD yesterday - it's so pretty. My hard drives are once again saved from impending crashes and my consequential despair.

Worst day ever today. Just fucking miserable. The new house is either cursed or I just have really shit luck. Almost crashed the car first time driving alone, scraped bits off the front tire hubcap, and garnered a lot of unwanted attention from the new neighbours. Just fuck off, people! Then mishap while trying to fix the new code for the alarm system (shouldn't they have done this earlier?) and deleted the master code, causing the alarm to go off for what felt like ages. Again, unwanted attention from neighbours. Then called up people to come fix the alarm, but not only do they charge about $40 more on weekend evenings, they were also a no show. Eventually had to give it up and just go to dinner. Fucking hell, I was planning to go to Officeworks before it closed to get myself an external HD or something. Fucking ruined my plans, and I'm fucking mortified from today. Can't stop thinking about how fucking stupid i was on the road.

Everyone of you who I might meet in real life, take note: You just don't want to ride in my car. Ever. It'll save your life.

Realised Gundam Wing has about 49 episodes. Am looking for 26-End + Endless Waltz now. Can anyone help? SOB.

Port Arlington was a blast. Between good food, Disney marathons, puzzles, mini golfing, strawberry picking, and the beach, I've gotta say it was like a good and proper holiday for me at last. Photos to come later.

Finally have Internet again!

A little catching up

It feels like ages since I've posted and entry, but lo and behold, it's only been 6 days. That's a terrible sign of my dependency on the Internet (but oh, it's such a nice addiction).

Parents being home for Chinese New Year (Happy CNY to everyone, by the way) means plenty of time spent at home-home. As a result, I haven't actually packed for the 4 day trip up to Port Arlington yet... we're leaving on Monday, and I'm working Sunday. Blaaargh.

Anyway, against my mother's vehement demands that I stop buying so many shoes, I bought a pair of black strappy heels for $30 today. And proceeded to wear them for half my work shift... not the most comfortable things ever, but I think they're quite nice... >_>;;

Apparently we should have proper Internet by next Thursday - Huzzah!

Oh, and I started watching Gundam Wing (Oh my god, what took me so bloody long?) this morning and got through the first 7 episodes. Seriously, Relena wasn't that bad - not the best, but far from the worst heroine ever (*cough*RINOA*cough*). Quatre was so blatantly all over Trowa though (who talked a wee bit more than expected, surprisingly). Heero was actually softer than I had anticipated his character to be, and Duo was pretty much how I'd thought he'd be. Wufei's "Because you're a woman!" to Noin was hilarious - he's rising the ranks to become a favourite of mine at this rate.

By the way, what the hell is up with the cold change these two days? I haven't been able to check the forecast online when I wake up in the morning (as has become my habit this last year) and it's caught me completely by surprise yesterday. No jacket, damnit.

As a result of moving to a new plae, I am ultimately without Internet for the next one to two weeks. If you need to contact me, call instead of e-mail. That is all.

Oh wait, no it's not. I've also resigned from my job - I will officially be unemployed again when semester 1 starts.

I wonder if choosing not to do something that is/was once well within your capabilities means you will lose the ability to do so later in your life? I mean, is it more a matter of degeneration of lesser-used skills, or...? I was once violent, but then actively tried to curb my short temper, and now I can't hit anyone for shit. Goddamn.

Some days I am torn from loving the fact that I can sleep for 11 hours straight (and then sleep some more), and hating it, because it's 15 hours of sleep in total and WTFwajdaksslakeuf3welifds. I went to sleep at 8pm last night, meaning I still got up at a reasonable 11:30am. But still.

Then again, I am also at my mum's place, meaning there nothing to do but sleep anyway.

The new nail is coming along nicely, though the fugly bump will probably be there for-friggin'-ever now. Boo. Still a bit tender, but much better than the deep purple and rotting mess it was before.

Anyone willing to be a cleaning slave this Thursday 24th? I'll bring drinks and cleaning stuff :D Will probably start moving on the 26th, since I'm not working that day.

Whee. LJ's new layouts

LJ's got a bunch of new layouts, so I decided to get a new one. Considering how many new layouts LJ is actually offering right now, many of them are a bit redundant and are just different colour combinations for the same design. Still, better than nothing.

Also, http://www.seeqpod.com/ is nice to have when you're on someone else's computer and not wanting to (obviously) download songs onto it. Playable Search, is what they call it.

Frustration from working out the balances aside, I don't usually mind my job. The people working around the place are nice, and we all get along, occasionally bitching and gossiping about certain people in away not unlike mothers' luncheons. Some day, though, really just suck.

tl;dr bitching about work )

Anyway, congratulations and best of luck to those studying overseas this year (Siggy and [info]riyuen to Japan, and [info]connikins at Berkeley) - I will miss you guys heaps. I expect lots of photos and details about your time there, 'kay? :D

Spider, Nim and I should be getting the new place on the 24th, so I hope to start moving around then. Spider and I will need to give the place a good cleaning beforehand though, because the last time we saw the place it was positively filthy. Will probably be moving my small things first, and leave the bigger furniture for the truck. Alas, I still have no car. I weep.

Spider and Kwee made plans to come to Chaddy while I was working yesterday. Didn't think I'd also have Jason, Kirsten and also my mum drop in unexpectedly. Work these days is slow and boring, so it was a nice change of pace to have so many friends there.

I keep forgetting to buy ant killer. How many fucking ants do I need to squash before they get the damned hint!?

Read volumes 1-10 of I'll (Generation Basket) today - quite interesting. I really enjoy the comfortable relationship that Akane and Sumire have, though Akane and Hitonari's friendship is the kind that tickles my BL fancy. The mangaka, Asada Hiroyuki's light colouring style is a quite like Tajima Shou's (of MPD Psycho, in it's less gory moments) in some ways, though I suspect Tajima's is more minimalistic.

Today I went out to the Camera Exchange in the city, and got myself my very own analogue camera - a Nikon FM2n. It feels wonderfully solid in my hands, and I can already feel the anticipation of using it properly over the coming months, if not years. The guy at the Camera Exchange was very helpful, and anything I forgot to ask him then I could find online. The FM2n gives me very pleasant tingles up my spine right now. Can't wait. I can just see this year being so much more enjoyable than last year. Plus, I don't have to do any more art theory. Huzzah.

Met with Catch and Riyu, and had a fabulous time wandering around the city. Bought a skort (shorts masquerading as a skirt) for $20 at Episode, and it looks bright and funky (is also comfortable. LOL). Ended the day at Max Brenner and indulged on cheesecake and hot chocolate. Feeling slightly queasy in the stomach now, but oh God, it was so worth it.

Allocate+ opened this morning, and I rushed online to see the possible class times. Digital Processes in Caulfield ends at 3, when English starts at Clayton. Not good. Other than that, seems like I might get Tuesday and Wednesday free to work. Hopefully I will be able to balance everything out.
